View Full Version : Electrical power ?

Has anyone ran a 1500 CXLD on a gas generator. Power outages are something we have to deal with in the islands.A small generator can make or break you if the power went out for a few hours.

I have a generator to run if needed but I have not had to use it thus far.

Hi Herman. I'M just trying to figure out,how big of one do I need to easily keep the 1500 CXLD smoking ?

should not take much of a generator to pull a 1500cxld because you only have 1400 watts of cooking elements. The one I have is big enough to run the restaurant 20kw.

Partner has a small gas one. I don't tknow much about it yet. What I really want to do soon,is get a 20 kw put it in a small shed. It should run the whole kitchen. Herman where are you located ?

I have heard people on other forums talk about "inverters." Might want to give that a "look-see!";)

An inverter would be tough unless you have a stack of car batteries laying around.
A generator rated for 1500 watts would work but you need to check the specs since a lot of electrical items use substantially more power during the startup cycle.
Many competition teams use the Honda i series of generators since they are quiet and very reliable.
