Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying the 1500. I just put four butts on using mostly hickory mixed with a little cherry. This is our favorite! We rub our butts with salt, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder and lemon pepper. I wish you could smell it. Our butts cook @ 225 for 12-14 hours, let it sit 1.5 hours wrapped up in foil then pull & eat. Wow makes your tongue slap your eye brows. Take some of this to some older folks at church who don't have the opportunity to do this and you've made their day! Next time I'll post the BBQ sauce we make. I enjoy learning about everybody's sauce.

It does sound good. And I know how my smoker smells when I have it fired up. Sounds like our rub is close to the same. Mine has some that yours does not.
What size butts do smoke? The ones we get here will average around 10 lbs each.
I do fix mine and take to church also. And they love it, Glad to see a owner of a 1500 in posting.
